Looking at tackling this project as well. One discovery I made on my F30 seat was that by connecting ONLY the output of a 12v to 6v converter (Out+ to CAN High and Out- to ground) it is enough to cycle a small signal to keep the seat awake. It somehow cycles about 1.6v on and off to the CAN...
