Save yourself the headaches
Just buy new tierod ends and replace it with the LBJ.
Count the Rotations (threads) as you spin off the old tierods and spin the new ones on the same amount.
Then go get it aligned.
seems to be normal temperatures
Your temperatures seem to be normal.
I agree cooler the trans. temp. better as long as it get hot enough to drive the moisture out.
One other thing to add:
My engine temp was 190* and would go higher if I got in traffic. 200*+
I thought it should be cooler...
Still no problems. There is one on each side now. There is 130,000 miles on the 4 Runner now so I guess it's been around 8 or 10 k mile since the first one was installed.
So you said it was fine until you worked on it The radiator and antifreeze. A no-cost test would be to put the old radiator back in and see what you get. Should only take a couple of hours. You have already done it once.
I'm Jealous :)
The 1uZ engine is sweet.
I have a 1996 ls 400 with 110,000 miles on it that I use as my go back and forth to work car with the 1uz. It will get on down the road and never seems like it is working hard at it.
I often wish the 4runner had that kind of power. I wish I had the...
Looks Ok to me.
Not sure what the sealant is for (maybe valve covers?). on all of the Toyotas I have done I didn't use any sealant on the water pump. I have always just cleaned the mating surface on the block and clean it again till its perfect, then use the gasket dry and torque down the way...
If you have the $$$$$$ get the outer tie rod ends also and save your self the work of trying to get the OTRE off of the LBJ. The OTRE will come off with the LBJ and there is no need to try to separate the OTRE from the LBJ.
If you do this, make sure you accurately count the number of turns on...
Still no problems with the NAPA NEW
I looked at it today and it is fine.
I've had it off road and flexed it out a bit.
Some rust on it but I have no complaints.
The SS 1.2 a kit is a very good kit. Not to bad to install and it had good instructions with it.
The top of the rear shock can be a pain, but this has nothing to do with the SS 1.2 kit, it's just the way the shock is mounted.
ha ha he broke his dipstick bet that hurts.
:worthless
