I have a couple of these. The first one purchased in hopes of the ultimate kitchen kit. It will tie down vertically next to an ARB fridge, but totally occludes the rear window. They're a great, weatherproof, versatile, container but too tall for the 5th gen if you care about rear visibility.

I used a piece of aluminum angle to whip up an awning mount in a pinch so it is easily doable. Maybe not the most elegant. The RRO rack is really a pretty solid universal platform, although shorter than some other options.

Be patient and wait a bit. Even in the event of legislation, BCG will not be restricted.

Just as an update for anyone who cares: I spoke with Toyota US customer service and they confirmed the adapters are discontinued and as of now will no longer be included with new Trail models

I've now contacted 4 different dealerships. All say the p/n is discontinued.

We have a sizable mining operation in Ohio. I've been buying HID work lights for equipment that seem to not have much of a lifespan. Do Rigid lights have a 24v option? I wasn't able to find anything about that on their site.
