Thanks for your response Children - no surprise that these things are really elusive. For the record, here are a couple pics from google images that show the bare bones console style I've got, including the MIA lid I'm looking to replace.

Finally found a reproduction and replaced the shift knob cap that's been missing for at least 10 years!

Hey Children - did you ever find the center console lid for your 1st gen? I know this thread is old, but digging around to see if I can find a source. It's the bare bones plastic (no cushion) style I'm looking for, as well as the hinge.

Totally impressed with your ingenuity. I've got the 3rd console option, but the armrest/lid is long gone (as i imagine it is for many other 1st gens). I have a habit of keeping my hand on the shift knob anyway, so don't miss the "armrest" option. Maybe you could engineer an insert for the...
