I have the same annoying sound knocking. Driving me crazy. I slammed my tilt steering all the way forward to try to get rid of it and busted my tilt steering lock mechanism and it is still knocking.
Usually on paved roads I’m in 4hi. Occasionally on logging roads that are very steep I’ll use the crawl control in icy conditions going down hill. I’ve seen some hills very icy and steep, I probably would not have made it with 4 wd of yesterday. In winter I put blizzaks, your bfg’s better than...
Yea it had been mentioned earlier in the thread. My TEP has sunroof and the wifes TRD ORP doesn't have a sunroof. Both have KDSS which is what IMHO separates the Trail/TRD OR from the rest of the trims. Rear locker, crawl are nice but honestly I rarely use them whereas the KDSS gets used around...
^^^True that. ^^^The way most people see it a 4X4 looks a little better with some clearance. .850" is not enough for your average buyer or dealer to notice. I traded mine with .850 up front and the dealer sold it within weeks.
Honestly, I don't think many people can get 20+ MPG. Maybe with stock tires and just the right conditions you could get 20-21. IMO people tend to reset the MPG average at appropriate times, like when going down a big hill with a tail wind and then they take a pic and it shows 26 MPG for a couple...
Took a few pics after a wash with the new 255/75/17 st maxx. Now that I wheeled with skinnies, that's all I'll ever purchase going forward. Good size for a stock setup IMO.
^^Spot on^^ The best looking 5th gen by far was the silver '10-'13 Trail. I wanted to get that color in 2010 but we were trading a silver Sport edition and wifey didn't want the same color as the one we just had so we went with MG and the black fender flares barely showed the contrast. I was...
I believe that previous generations averaged 7 year spans. The 5th gen is going on at least 9 years but will probably be 10 or 11 years of the same gen. There are not many choices for mid-sized BOF SUV's these days as there were in the 90's. I hope the next gen is another BOF and it doesn't have...
The '15 must have been out from the start but only noticed it after a few thousand miles when the tires were wearing inside I believe. Now I don't chance it and get it done within the first week or so of purchase and whenever purchasing new tires. Mechanic said the '18 was toed in a bit but...
Nikon stage umteen 6' lift/ 2' spiderlax spacers/ 6 gun fluted shooters/ 385/85/20 ultratracs. Strap a hi-lift to the obi-one rack with plastic bumpers. Never took it off-road before... never gonna after.
I've got trd pro black rims and recently fitted them with cooper st maxx in 255/75/17. Honestly my original trail rims provide better protection for the valve stem but I also liked the black look and style of the trd pro rims. The fn wheels are nice also, I just wanted to have a toyota OEM rim...
Crawl control has helped me on a few occasions going down steep hills that are ice covered on logging roads where most vehicles would need tire chains. Sure it took me a while to get down but I would not have attempted it without crawl control. I would think in most situations an SR5 is just as...
