I replaced my LBJ bolts but that being said, they were pretty old. I personally think sticking with 4runner parts is better since you lose turning radius switching to taco parts. I used to have a first gen taco and my rubber is much more nimble it seems like.

My guess would be from the air bag deployment. But I would also say that a lot of the tissue damage is from the speed of the rough nylon airbag causing abrasions to the forearms. Just my .02

If you car is originally old enough to not require emissions then you shouldn't have to have them done no matter which county you are in. Also be careful with the vintage plates....technically they are only supposed to be used to drive to maintenance and back and forth to car shows and such...
