I towed the largest enclosed Uhaul trailer fully loaded from Columbus OH to Phoenix AZ in my stock 2016 TEP with no problems at all, just shy of 2000 miles over 3 days. I would guess the trailer and contents to be around 4400lbs, about 390lbs of human, 160lbs of dog, and 100lbs of bags inside...

Here are a few pics with the extension, I mounted about as low as you could on the factory rails. It is loud at highway speeds with nothing in it, sounds like a plane flying directly overhead. Quieter with a couple of dog cages wrapped in a tarp on our trip to the outer banks. I keep it off...
