    Don't forget the "A" Bolt!!!!!

You can't accidently hit it, the switch is no longer at the front, removed. You can only roll it up and down from the key, from a switch on the inside edge near the rear deck light, or by the remote on the alarm system.

    Seats welded; is this safe?

Last set I built for a 2wd toyota (lowrider), we used hot rolled 2" flat 1/8" from stock hole to stock hole, both front and back rails, then bolted the new seat rails to the flat stock.

Another suggestion, you might want to consider fabbing up your own rail supports. I would run a flat rail bolted to the floor, then adapt in and have that in turn bolt to the seat rails. This would avoid 2 problems... 1)welding skill, seats really are somthing you want to be 100% on. 2)Ease...

    Anti Theft Ideas

1)Kill Switch 2)Alarm 3)2nd Kill switch (put in open view but unmarked) 4)Weld rebar over cat (to keep tweakers from cutting it out and stealing it) I also have 3 other "anti-theft" systems in place I wont openly talk about.

    Help Diagnose Engine Knock

You really trust felpro? I had such BAD experences with them in the 80's and 90's building SBC's I just won't ever touch their stuff again. Also they don't make a good metal unit for the toy.

    and she went boom.

I would say swap in a 7M-GTE and go big, but I am biased :D

I would only go with OEM/Toyota...or a GOOD aftermarket semi/all metal unit. LC Engineering makes a top notch head gasket (had one in my 83).

    Crap! What happened?

Going by all you have posted, I am going to say its 90% likely to be a rod/main berring spun. Now the "is it worth trying to fix, or just replace with a new motor" the thing to consider on this is.. A new motor is going to last you years and years...but isnt the cheep way to go. You could try...

Not the fuel injectors into the intake, you want the seafoam/atf to run across the valves not spray into the cyl directly. To use seafoam, pull the vacuum line that attaches to the intake just aft of the throttle body, stick it into the seafoam, start it up and rev the piss out of it, dont let...

    Alternator is shot

Sounds like a good time to adapt a ford external regulator one wire into it, so you can build yoruself a onboard welder setup :)

it could be a sticky valve. There is a old trick to fix this, BUT...be warned don't do this at home on the street. On VW motors that had a problem with a lifter sticking, we use to pour a little ATF fluid into the carb as we revved teh piss out of the motor. Keep revving it, its going to create...

    Crap! What happened?

Ticking, as in as it idles, does the "ticking" go up as you rev the motor? If so, sounds like you spun a rod or mainshaft berring.

Hasn't even sold and I am starting to regret it...

I have pondered selling the beast, but then I drive it again and remind myself just how much fun it is to mob on it. The previous owner is always whining he should have never sold it, and how he has considered trying to buy it back from me, I laugh at him. (he is also my best friend)
