No joy on the bottom metal, I did however score some early Williams bottom metal and got that to fit. Truth be told the barreled action in that stock is a plain Jane Rem 700 SPS varmint in .243 and it is one of my most accurate rifles.......Blake

You could go by Dicks and pick up a 223 varmint for 4 bills with scope. Take a hack saw to the barrel clean up the crown and still be money ahead. Just sayin....Blake Never could like mags hanging that far below the stock line on a bolt gun, but it is your money.....

I would bypass the Mossberg and pick up a Remington 700, for 100 bucks more. Eventually you would be able to customize it more to your style of shooting. And yeah I can do 900 with my 223
