So the tachometer is spiking and the engine speed is not increasing or is the engine speed increasing and the tachometer is indicating the speed increase? The first will likely be an electrical fault, a short, etc. The second will likely be mechanical, perhaps a vacuum leak.

I would honestly replace both master and slave, Brake fluid attracts moisture BIG TIME which will rust bores and cut seals. they are cheap, and easy to do.

There is an access hole but you physically cant remove the pump through it. Its an easy tank to drop anyways. I can have it out in <30mins or so.

The quick way to do it is to remove the negative terminal and touch it to the positive terminal. It discharges all the capacitors that you would otherwise have to wait 10 mins for them to do it on their own.

If you have EGR you will need to swap that over too. Most JDM engines ive encountered wont have it.

The rear drums are massive on these trucks as it is, compare them to late model GM trucks or whatever. You have lots of stopping power in the rear, just make sure they are adjusted properly and you won't have any issues. Drums run Into problems with heat soaking, so if you aren't lugging heavy...

What about a split belt in one of the tires? You could try rotating them and see if the vibration moves to the front. Split belts can definitely make it feel like you are off roading on dry pavement.

My first guess is that you have a bushing bad in one of your trailing arms, allowing the pinion angle to change all over the place. Does it get worse on accel/decel? or just at a cruise speed? I had a high speed vibration from the flange at the transfer case. The staked nut had backed off and...
