Ratchet and Pads are fine with factory rack I usually carry 2 long and 2 6ft's side by side w/ Bags, no problems. Definitely use pads. I also bring the strap over first two, under rack bar then back up over other two.

just got my bolt on Sliders 2013 Runner SR5 from Metal Tech in Oregon Super happy with them functional bolt on love that the end caps are finished at appropriate angle. The guys there were super easy to work with. Far as I know mine was 1st production. I'll put some pics on
