Gotta disagree with you on this point. Tried Bosch and Michelin wipers in all seasons and always ended up going back to OEM. I always have a few replacement rubber inserts on hand to make the quick and easy swap out making it the cheapest option as well.

I actually dig the black steelie look on the 4Runner, just hate the unsprung weight. That being said, there's a reason why people use steelies for their winter tires - they're cheap and functional.

They are pretty short, but should still work carrying an 11' boat. You're probably going to want to strap down the bow and the stern though. Source: I regularly use them to move a 16 foot canoe (weighs about 80 pounds for reference)

This is the best advice on the topic. This maintenance item seems particularly hard to explain in writing, but is really simple. Look at the pictures in the thread, find that part underneath your 4Runner, then pump it with grease.
