I seem to have trouble with this too. Everytime I start my truck it gives a loud squeal due to a rib breaking off the back side of my belt. Usually just change the belt after that happens. I live in the south and its very hot under the black hood of my runner, probably the issue.

but it does help thats just about the coolest rack there is for a 4runner
