I did the same with my box but ran switched constant power and extended the mic to a homemade port in the tiny dash cubby. It’s a great set up having all the controls on the mic.

Looks like it’s going to be different than anything else on the market. Need a lot more teasers.

Only mounted in the bumper plastic using the BD provided hardware, so that tiny washer and lock nut. I have no concerns about it ever being an issue, the plastic is both strong and flexible.

I have done exactly what you're thinking (well, with sport level lights, not pros). I tapped the red wire at the taillight (you should verify) and spliced it with the trigger wire from my switch with a diode on each. Lights work as expected, stock back up lights do not come on with switch, etc...

Interested but a little concerned with the install. Do you consider this a DIY-doable process? Any special tools or equipment needed?

You could make some pretty simple mounts if you were willing to cut holes in the lower grill section. Then mount those to either the crash beam or hang down from the center bumper support crossmember. These are the mounts I made to hang lights down utilizing stock holes so I could install the C4...

Anyone out there interested in a passenger side only?? I only want driver side and at this time BPF is not selling them as singles.

I went with the Rocky Mounts Backstage. If you'd prefer a swing out rack, I'd recommend for sure. Makes getting in and out of the trunk so much better than shimmying between the rack and vehicle. Still folds up when empty and down when loaded like all the other racks as well. BackStage Swing...

You can’t screw it up. The slotted end goes between the bolt heads and the front skid. You either install it correctly as a filler or upside down as an off-center scoop.

No smell. I had the tire in the garage for several weeks before this and it rode laying down in the hatch for a couple weeks before this too.
