    Pick's 2nd Gen Build Thread

Thanks stomper4x4 It is a 2nd vehicle so it won't see a ton of use. Putting together my plans for a lift, tires, bumper, winch, roof rack and other cool things but the short term will be resolving the oil leaks and P0402 code for the EGR. I really need to get the driver's seat out and replace...

    Pick's 2nd Gen Build Thread

Finally found an 80!! Struck out on several (sold before I got there) but was fortunate enough to find this one within a few minutes of it being posted. Met the seller that evening and bought it. It definitely needs some TLC (small oil leaks, driver seat gear, etc.) but should be a good...

    Pick's 2nd Gen Build Thread

Thanks Dropzone, I've enjoyed watching your build thread. It's just a 'get around town' vehicle for me; to keep miles/maintenance off my '17 F350 4dr long bed dually... speaking of dismal mpg :) I actually did ok on the sale. Bought it for $2,100 (now see that was too much), spent ~$700 in...

    Pick's 2nd Gen Build Thread

Well, I sold my 4Runner... Bittersweet... I had a BLAST learning about the 3VZE but a couple of factors influenced my decision: 1. While I LOVED the maneuverability of the 2nd Gen, the driver seat really needed to go back another inch or more to accommodate all 6' 3" of my. It wasn't...

Muffler DONE!! :guitar3: Here's the old one with the exhaust leak I got the replacement from Advance Auto; <$100 for the whole cat-back system. Note the significant muffler size difference

    Pick's 2nd Gen Build Thread

Since this isn't a DD, it has been on the back burner... Finally got some time (and break in the weather) so I went to work. Got everything back together but it wouldn't start. I was so bummed; then my son said 'dad, the fuel gauge is on "E"'. I knew it was low but there was fuel in the fuel...

    3VZE intake help needed

Super helpful thread on Toyota Nation on this... I've had an oil leak as well, thinking it was the rear main seal but sounds like this may be related?? https://www.toyotanation.com/forum/60-t-100-forum/809074-cavity-under-intake-manifold-full-oil-2.html Appreciate any other thoughts...

    3VZE intake help needed

My mistake, it was not coolant in the front half... it was gas. When I opened the fuel rail, it poured and poured out before I could get it stopped. It flowed down the front so the intake manifold gasket must have allowed some to seep in. But there is lots of oil in the back half... Is that OK??

    3VZE intake help needed

'94 4Runner 3.0 3VZE Auto, 225k - Engine was running fine other than the code 52 (knock sensor) timing retarded so poor power/mpg I've been taking it slow but finally reached the knock sensor today. When I pulled it, there is oil pooled in the back half and coolant pooled in the front; see...

    Pick's 2nd Gen Build Thread

Got the van going and my sons' F-150 transmission went out :juggle: Anyway, was finally able to get a little bit done: Got the crankpulley off, PO broke a bolt off so I got it out and cleaned up all the threads...

    22RE 2nd cylinder not firing

If I interpreted your codes correctly, looks like you have two: 6 & 11. I don;t have a manual but quick Google search shows: 6: RPM signal 11: Switch Signal - neutral start switch ON (22re) or IDL point in throttle position sensor is OFF during diagnostic check Have you cracked the fuel lines...
