I have seen some metal versions of these on Amazon. They usually give a weight limit for them. That said, I still have been too afraid to try one. Little bit of a fat boy myself.

Getting up there 2010 SR5 with 172+K. I bought it in Apr. of 2016 with only 106K. I had to buy an old Honda Accord to use as my commuter car just to reduce the impact on my T4R. Hope to see over 300K but not for several more years.
