Will an Inner Tie Rod / Rack End Show Warning Signs Before Snapping Off?

Will a cheap inner tie rod show play before it snaps off, or could it snap off at any moment, without warning? I bought one of the cheapest possible racks I could find (BuyAutoParts branded). I noticed some issues with the rack, then dove deeper into the customer reviews of all the racks they...

Please help, Vibration only while accelerating.

I needed to front diff to move out of my way (have a diff drop kit). I don't understand a lot about cars as you can tell, and after unbolting the two long bolts, I kept jacking up the diff, instead of letting it droop down. Related to this discussion, I changed my rearmost U joint which made...

Please help, Vibration only while accelerating.

To those who fixed it by addressing the driveshaft(s) and joints, did anyone have to address the front? Just like OP, mine is only with throttle (and, only with throttle at/above highway spd). There are a thousand vibration threads and I thank God I found one that matches. I jacked my front...

    Broken Transfer Case Casing

Thank you all, it's a relief somewhat.

    Broken Transfer Case Casing

It's orange but I'm certain not FIPG. It's rubber or nitrile. It's soft and squishy, can pierce it with a razor.

    Broken Transfer Case Casing

So if I have a bit of rubber gasket sticking out the side, it means the TC has definitely been worked on?

    1st Time Good & Stuck

Thanks for sharing. I hold Toyotas to high standards, so I'm disappointed that a PS problem could leave me stranded. I didn't know that, I figured the wheel would just be harder to steer.

    1st Time Good & Stuck

In high school I'd take a stock 4runner and t100 with road tires, no cell phone, no recovery gear, etc., out into the muddiest places I could find in National Forest land. Knowing you aren't prepared definitely adds quite the adrenaline rush.

    1st Time Good & Stuck

A winch saves so much time, especially nice if you get stuck often. Also less cumbersome. I've left the come along at home since getting the winch. We're talking a two minute recovery in most cases. Spooling the line back on takes longer than rigging and recovering.

I'm envious of anyone who plays that hard, yes, tires, but some people with a lift and MT's don't ever see mud. At least you're doing the damn thing.

    Broken Transfer Case Casing

I saw a reputable Toyota mechanic (not a Toyota employee, just specializes in Toyotas) "fix" this same issue with some type of FIPG, black Toyota kind. If it was good enough for him and his customer's vehicle, it would be good enough for me. However, I think his crack was on the fill plug. Big...

Can't Sell It... what should I do?

Here's what I've noticed right now, while trying to sell my Sequoia and browsing T4r's for my friend. Yes, prices are way up, but people are poorer now, not richer. Not everyone has several thousand set aside for a private sale right now, but they could go to a used car dealer and finance a junk...

Alignment issues! Truck cannot get non positive camber.

I watched both parts. I was hoping I'd be able to leave most of the suspension nuts/bolts in. When putting in a lift and lbj's, I remember using 3-4 days of my vacation. UCA's took a full day. This job here, maybe two more precious days off. Mine is not too rusted, things just get old and...

Thanks Tim! Dropping in outta nowhere to save the day.

Alignment issues! Truck cannot get non positive camber.

Been a while, but was wondering if you remember what the shop said the issue was. Was it just incompetence? Neither myself nor a couple reputable shops in town can get my camber down. As a result my front tires are done within a year. I am lifted on 32's. Was considering buying SPC's to replace...
