What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today? - Vol 2

Finally tackled the compressor install. This was my first automotive wiring job and I'm pretty happy with the results. It did make me want to replace the old terminals now... For that one other person out there, the CMKA12 compressor + Marlin Crawler bracket does barely fit with Spiker...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today? - Vol 2

You're right! I must have blocked the torture from my memory lol. This is the tool I used for the vertical bolt: 1/2" Drive Flex Handle/Breaker Bar 24" | GEARWRENCH It sucked but technically worked to get it loose, then a smaller flexhead ratchet for the rest. Just watch out for the hard...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today? - Vol 2

Maybe I'm misremembering but I don't recall needing to loosen that steering rack bolt to get the LCAs out. I did for rack bushings of course and it does suck though. I ended up using a 2ft breaker to get as tight as i could, slow process. I cleaned MAF & replaced a torn o-ring which seems to...

    Creaking Sound Frontend - Diagnosing

Thanks for this, sorry I'm just seeing it. I think I tracked it down to the shock body so I'm replacing both fronts in the next couple weeks & will report back.

    Creaking Sound Frontend - Diagnosing

Hi all, I recently contracted a case of frontend noise on my 1999 4WD. Going crazy trying to diagnose it and hoping for some input. The noise started after I replaced LBJs & LCA bushings (whiteline) and got an alignment. I took it back to the alignment shop to get checked and the tech said the...

Hi, I am experiencing an issue where I can't view certain pages of threads. I noticed while trying to add a post to a pinned thread. I can view this page fine: https://www.toyota-4runner.org/3rd-gen-t4rs/104161-what-did-you-do-your-3rd-gen-today-2.html But the latest page gives me the...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Completed the suspension refresh with new OEM rear coils. For anyone wanting to do this, rent spring compressors! Free and makes the job so much easier. Added about 1/2 inch and rides so smooth now. Washed the outside and nearly ready for a cross country trip next week!

    Posty's '99 4R

Getting close to satisfied with the rear storage and got 4600s mounted on all four corners last week. Old shocks were blown out so it's riding a lot better :) I've got the sag bad so I'm on the hunt for a rear spring replacement that doesn't give lift...may just have to pay for OEM
