A 2011 with leather seats vs. my 2013 with cloth seats feels quite different, something other than the coverings. Not sure of the reasons. Comfort of the cloth seat is much better.

Those cheap radios have interference issues that are inconsistent with each other, to some degree. One radio may have issues at certain frequencies, which are different frequencies that might affect another Baefeng radio.
