    Steering wheel vibration Poll

"Characteristic of the vehicle" is official Toyota speak for "We know it's a problem, but don't know how to fix it." They say that specifically to avoid lemon law issues....I went through it with my Tacoma for a year with Toyota corporate and litigation. As for the 3 choices you listed, I'd...

Why are aftermarket lights so popular?

Around here, it seems like the primary point of installing LED light bars is to ensure that others on the road can immediately identify the driver as a douchebag. These drivers make it even easier by driving with the light bars lit on the road....that way you can spot the douchebags from much...

Driver's Seat popping noise - Fixed (I think)

Thanks for the tip, but I'm only 5'10", so my seat is never all the way back. What does seem to make a difference is if I mess with the recline, even just a little bit. It doesn't stop the noise, but seems to lessen it if I just give the recline even a slight bump forward.

Driver's Seat popping noise - Fixed (I think)

Wanted to post a follow up to this in case anyone comes across it in a search. The "fix" I described didn't stand the test of time. It slowly came back over time, and is getting worse with the weather warming up. Yesterday, the truck was parked outside in 80+ degree weather for a few hours, and...

    Brake Upgrades?

It's basically the process of getting an even initial transfer of pad material to the rotors. The TRD pads come with a written set of instructions in the box. An uneven buildup of pad material on a rotor can cause pulsing, and it was most people refer to as a warped rotor. The process is to...

    '10 Trail vs '17 Pro

2010-2013 Trails are by far the best looking 5th gens, IMO....keep it.

    Electric Question

I don't understand your common ground comments. The ground in the lower right corner of that diagram is only used for a lighted switch. (Note the illumination +12v going to the switch in addition to the ignition switched +12v) If the switch wasn't lighted in that example, that ground wouldn't...

    Photos of Rooftop Cargo Boxes

Thanks...and for the record, I never tried to install this box with the original SR5 rack. There's a chance you could make it work, but I doubt it. Mine is installed with the front cross bar all the way forward, and the box mounts are all the way back. That leaves just enough clearance for the...

    3D Maxpider Classic Mats?

No difference in the shape of the floor, but I believe the retention system is different in 2010-2012 vs. 2013 and up. My 2013 has the two twist-lock retainers on the driver and passenger side, which is what they still use today. I think yours has hooks?

    3D Maxpider Classic Mats?

I posted some in this "Weathertech" thread: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/232372-weathertech-2.html#post2597478

    Photos of Rooftop Cargo Boxes

Figured I'd add to this thread while I have my cargo box installed. It's a Skybox 16 Pro on a 2010-2013 Trail model rack. It fits perfectly - just enough clearance to open the hatch all the way without hitting, and no interference with the sharkfin. With the original SR5 rack, the box would...

    3D Maxpider Classic Mats?

Figured I'd post an update to this thread, since I started it. The driver's side mat really didn't hold up all that well, and looks pretty worn after less than a year. I took these out and replaced them with the new version of the OEM liners. I'm pretty sure Auto Accessories Garage would...

I do have the OEM cargo liner, but no pics. The one I have is the same one Toyota has sold since the 5th gen came out, so you can find pics of it all over the place. I'm not aware of an updated (better) cargo liner from Toyota....just the floor liners. I ordered the liners from here...

For those who haven't seen them, here are a few pics of the new OEM liners. Picked these up for just over $100 shipped.
