from the looks of the engine in the pictures I bet the engine was sludged out.
I also have used the 57 filter without issue but I try and use them on engines that are not sludged out.
the 57 is a 3/4 thread, many many other filters fit the same thread like the EAO 34 that one will work also it...
great ending! I was wondering you bought this vehicle used? how many miles was on it when you got it? and how many miles did you put on the vehicle before it tore up?
