    Horn Not Working

Thank you. Yes, I'm old school, learned much from forums the past 20 yrs so the few times I can give back, I do. I'll have to eat the $100 relay so now I have a spare, but the the other stuff was Prime and will be returned.

    Horn Not Working

FIXED IT! It ends up that the horn on the left side (when standing in front of the engine and facing in) has two wires feeding in to it. The horn on the right has only one wire feeding into it. The two wires on the left horn are: one feeding power into the horn connector, then one feeding power...

    Horn Not Working

Did all this (in bold above) yesterday. Going to trouble-shoot at the horn circuit today w/multimeter and a neighbor who's good at that stuff. Also checked the horns and they work, checked the wire leads at the clips into both horns and they're both dead. Out of an abundance of caution I did...

    Advice needed: horn not working

Currently experiencing Horn Hell with my '04 4Runner and my searching brought me to this thread among others on T4R. I'm not certain but I am pretty sure that the gizmo that you think is a fuse, is actually a sensor of some type, likely outside air temperature sensor.

    Horn Not Working

I've really been wondering if it could be the clockspring. But what's making me think it is not is that I can hear the relay click each time i press on the horn. SO with that and all the buttons on the steering wheel working, and no honking at all throughout turning thru full range of motion has...

    Horn Not Working

Excellent advice! Unfortunately the 4Runner is only going to be with me for a few days before it heads back up north with my kid. I was super anxious to try to get this figured out before he leaves.

    Horn Not Working

New relay installed, still doesn't work. $100 down the drian. Insert mad as hell and frustrated gonna bust up some sh!t emoticon here. Since I haven't seen it posted before, the part number for my '04 2UZFE horn relay was 90987-02022. In my 4Runner the relay's behind the fuse block are all...

    Horn Not Working

I ordered a new horn relay yesterday, picking it up today...$100+!! The horn relay is on the back side of the driver's side fusebox at lower dash. Takes a little work to get to it, but I already did that last night, and unbolted the fuse box. I'll post up the sequence to R&R later today. This...

    Horn Not Working

Mods: Yes...I posted this in 5th gen, too. Please don't delete. My horn stopped working this past January. 2004 with 141k miles, 2UZFE. All the controls on the steering wheel work, radio, etc. I replaced the clockspring with OEM back in June 2023 and everything worked fine from then to this...

Horn problem - with potential solution!

Fixed it! My horn stopped working this past January. All the controls on the steering wheel work, radio, etc. I replaced the clockspring with OEM back in June 2023 and everything worked fine from then to this past January, when horn stopped working. I swapped out both 10A fuses (one in dash...

V8 transfer case leak repair options in Los Angeles area?

I agree it is sketch! Here's his video on how to R&R the acturator from the TC/shift rods WHILE the TC is still on the 4Runner...you're gonna love it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKgB_WDnttQ Supposedly one will only go thru timing hell if they open up the actuator and alter the gears...

V8 transfer case leak repair options in Los Angeles area?

I checked carparts.com and there are used TC options within 50-100 miles from me that are still available, running $1,500-2,050. That's used, removed from the vehicle and with little to no background info on the history or condition of the part. Some of the sellers (carparts.com is a site where...

V8 transfer case leak repair options in Los Angeles area?

This makes the most sense. I've called most of the shops above and haven't had any luck. Spoke to my local dealer and their tech seems to know what to do, but even the labor quote to R&R the existing and do the seals is quoted at 15 hours (!!!) at $200+/hr, which seems absurd. So...off to...

V8 transfer case leak repair options in Los Angeles area?

Your search-fu is far superior to mine, thank you! I actually use The Toy Shop in Torrance and they are great, highly recommend! But I don't think they're still affiliated w/the one in Cypress anymore so I'll call the Cypress shop. I've asked Torrance several times about the repair and they...

V8 transfer case leak repair options in Los Angeles area?

I want to be done with the leaking transfer case issue. The TC - actuator leak is slowly getting worse and I'm tired of topping it up. I'm not capable of dropping it and replacing the rod seals as others have done even though I already bought OEM FIPG, the OEM o-ring and the seals from Rocket...
