FWIW if you go with a runner/cruise/Lexus, Atlanta Custom Cruisers down off I-20 does great work. I’ve taken my 1st Gen to them for years and have always been happy.
The Honda Pilot isn’t a bad choice either. I had a 1st gen for my first car and loved it
Are you running a stock-type thermostat in the coolant system or one of the dual stage? My 87 has always had a wonky cooling system that “works” but not quite right. For me it retains coolant but unless I idle it to running temps it briefly spikes before cooling back down shortly after.
Those replacement console look great. Is there a way to modify an existing center console for cup holders? I’d hate to sacrifice a moderately intact original interior piece for that
