thank you. actually I did find out what it is. Apparently it is a filter for the gas vapor.
I needed to know becuase it runs into a valve on the engine and I was unsure what it was for, and didn;t know how important it was.
The unfortunate part is that no one at Toyota knows what the hell it is...
