The Black TRD PRO is still sitting in the Burnsville Toyota back lot. I saw it today when I test drove the FJ Cruiser Trails Team Ultimate they have on the lot.

I've had both on 4Runners. I prefer the Coopers for the reasons others have mentioned.

I think it's lifetime on just the powertrain, not the whole rig. Still a nice bit of additional peace of mind.

No question rolling your own is a better deal moneywise if you start with a non-TRD and customize it how you prefer, which is what I did. But having Toyota put the whole thing together and have it come with a warranty is a legit way to go too...just more expensive. It's just fun to see them in...

Seems like you've already figured it out based on your needs. The nice thing about the TRDP is that it's one package where everything comes with a warranty from Toyota. You can't beat that. I think you'd be happy with either vehicle. If you can afford the Pro, go Pro!

Thanks camnowell! I just put these on my 2014 SR5 after seeing your post. Easy install. Fits perfectly. Now maybe the girlfriend will stop yelling at me about not being able to climb into her 4Runner.

Just got an email from the operations manager at AMP Research. Said they'd release the 4Runner PowerSteps to distributors in about 3 weeks.

thanks to all the thread contributors Last week, before I even started searching the site for a thread like this, I bought a complete set of matte black handles to swap out on the SR5. This will save me a ton of time.

Thanks for the update. Now that the 4Runner is the daily driver for the wife, I'll have to look at these. The lift isn't coming off the 4Runner!
