Finally got some time to put her to the test-----threw some tools in the back (and a big shovel), dropped tires down to 16 psi and test flew her on the pretty soft beach sand 'road' along the estero. Front axle worked excellent as did the t-case....no grinding, no expensive noises and the old...

Anyone planning on coming down here this summer? Or whenever? Just moved back here and leased a little beach-house-adjacent at Baja Cove Beach (Punta Estero, just south of Ensenada, half way to La Bufadora). If so hit me up....I gots lotsa room and there's a lot of places to fish, drink, eat...

BTW, any of you here recognize these rims? I've seen a zillion steel wagon wheel style rims in my 60 years.....but never ones like these made of aluminum. I'd seriously like to get one more of them for the spare soon.....

Just put the first 880 miles on this old/new girl that I recently bought. Has 31" x 10.50 x 15" Cooper Discoverer AT3's. I'm sure they're pretty old but they're in great shape, have lotsa tread left and handle/ride very nice. When I loaded her up in Hell-A I stuffed about 800 pounds of crap in...

Oh yeah, btw, any of you here ever find yourselves in Ensenada and need a place to stay for a night or so, I've got lots of room at the new house. Safe, security, quiet and just a two minute walk to the water on either side of the peninsula.......:cool:

Well after a nine week delay I finally got my hands on this old gal. And in a weird but neat turn of fate I ended up moving to Baja, after scoring this really cool cheap beach house. Anyways after changing the oil and filter in Hell-A and adjusting the clutch pedal play a bit , I took a gamble...

Back for some more Gen 2 punishment..... Five or six years ago here I told myself I'd never buy another 4 Runner with the 3.0. As in never never. Apparently however....my mental capacities are fuzzing out after 60 years. Oil well, bring it on......:bounce: ('91, 3.0, 220k on the trip-o-meter...

A weak or dying coil will drive you up the fricken wall, as it doesn't follow any certified play book when it decides to act possessed. I've had it happen on 4 or 5 different cars in the last 30+ years.......

Trust me on this one, and check your coil........

Hmmm, if I recall that may have been a bit too far without the rear d-shaft disco'd. Something about the tranny pump spinning dry or something. But do some more searching and verify that one........

Being a bit older than a lot of you guys here, I'm a firm believer in new crate motors. Yeah I know it's a few bucks more, but if your time/salary vs. their time/salary is a wash or so, it's sometimes better to just do what you do best, and let them do what they do best. Then spend your free...
