Ours turned 120k a week or two ago... '03 V8 Sport 2WD.

Some things are pretty obvious here.... a) It doesn't cause any damage or long-term durability/reliability issues b) Toyota won't do anything about it Why waste so much energy complaining about it?? My 4Runner even does it on occasion, and I don't even HAVE a driveshaft with grease fittings...

No issues here.. Although I have a 2WD V8 model. Did you hit any bad potholes in the past? Perhaps any curb-checks? Usually wheel bearings fail after being subjected to some sort of impact or after being forced in a plane that is not part of the normal rotation of the wheel. Good to hear it...

The 4.7L engine is such a smooth and quiet engine... Be thankful you don't have a 5.7L Tundra... Mine makes a godawful amount of racket (sounds like a diesel) for the first 3-5 minutes. It's just a trait of that engine and it's considered normal. I don't mind it. Ricky

Why would it "never be the same" again after getting a brand new transmission from Toyota? You should be glad, chalk it up to a very rare defect, and just go on to drive that thing to 250k+ miles.

How to get better gas mileage? Drive 100% highway miles and don't tow any trailers (which is why my mileage has been in the crapper lately, because I am always dragging toys around on the weekends).
