I'm not looking for someone for tell me what to buy. I offered an example of an item I've been thinking about for a while, and asked if anyone had thoughts on that item, or had some other idea that hadn't crossed my mind. I, like many others I'm sure, use this forum for exactly that purpose...

Thanks for the input. I am pretty well set with most of the little stuff you mentioned. I have weather tech mats, have a car wash membership, wiper blades are in good shape, etc... but I like the thought process. Do you have any thoughts about the XenonDepot Phillips HID kit? Is it worth the $$$?

I'm looking for input on the best mod available in the $200-$250 range. I know, I "should" take that money and start saving for the next great project, but when the wife says the money is use-it-or-lose-it, you spend the money! I'm thinking about HID conversion, but maybe you guys have ideas...

The police push bars are only slightly more "robust" (see my picture above). They are really only suited for making a very slow, controlled contact with basically no impact, and basically slowly push with minimal force. The push bars on police cars are damage multipliers also! A year or two ago some idiot pulled out in front of me while I was on duty, and I almost got stopped on time, but not quite. The guy's Prius barely had a scuff on the paint, and the front end of the Crown Vic I was driving was destroyed...

That connector just has a plastic clip that snaps into a hole in the door panel. No metal contact at all
