I installed Dobinson C59-300 front coils last week. Wound up with about 1 1/2" of front lift. We like the leveled look now but not so much the ride. I think the truck feels more like a boat going down the road and not as stable/planted as before. Seem's to lean more on high speed curves. Will...
Update: Installed the front springs today. Below are crappy before and after pics. Took us about 3 hours but could probably do it in 2 or less next time.
Measurements are from center (eyeballing it) of wheel to bottom of fender.
Before / After
LF- 19 3/4" / 21 1/2"
LR- 22" / 22"
RF- 20"/ 21...
jagsr71,
I read your build thread. You certainly did it right! That is a great looking ORP.
As far as the T13's go, it will depend on the front to rear height difference after I install the new front springs. They are suppose to provide a 1.75"+ lift. That's going to leave about a 1/2" in the...
Nice lift! What all have you done to your suspension?
If hers turns out that nice she'll be stoked!
I've read lots of good stuff on the T13's. They are definitely on the list of things to consider.
Thanks for the input!
Glad to hear you are happy with your lift!
I thought through the different options. If it were my car I probably would have went a different route, but for what she wanted and that she was already ok with the stock suspension i felt like springs were the best option. If she has any negative...
Mr Hemingway, welcome aboard! No one is going to rag you about your 4runner. It's a 4runner!
As far as lift advise, there are a lot more people a lot more knowledgeable than myself to help you with that. Learn to use the search function and dedicate the time to read the posts. There is a wealth...
After hours of reading and researching and several emails to Mike@Dobinsons, I've decided to try the Dobinson C59-300 front springs with the stock shocks. This will give me a 1.75"+ lift up front and hopefully firm it up a tad without making it too stiff/choppy. They are rated @ 586LBF/IN -vs-...
Looks great like it sits! :thumb:
Can you take some front and rear measurements now before you add the spacer? I'm curious what the post Bilstein, pre-spacer results are.
Thank all of you for the replies!
It appears that for my scenario a reoccurring theme here and in other threads often includes the Bilstein 5100's with aftermarket springs. Is the height adjustability of the 5100's the main reason they are considered an upgrade over the stock 4runner TRD ORP...
