    Hi Amp Alternator

I added a voltage booster for my 5th gen and wouldn't expect the little extra voltage to matter for an air pump, or really any of my electronic addons. I would think running the pump too long would more likely be the reason.

What has happened to this 4runner forum?

Something is hacking this forum. I get a huge red baner warning of a virus even after the secure log in....

    troubleshooting horrible mpg

Sounds about right. Those tires alone will kill MPG. My 19 4R gets 14-15 mpg with only 2 lb heavier tires, short trips under 10 miles, lots of hills and traffic, but i do 80 on the highway. I used to get 15-16 on 2lb lighter tires and i'm always carrying an extra 200 lbs. On a side note...

Time for new tires, again, help me decide

Well if you are happy with the K02's you are happy with the K02's, K03 would be a fine choice too i would think. Only new tires i would strongly suggest looking at is my favorite right now the RT Duratracs, or Baja Boss. I have been impressed with my new RT's.

    What AT tires?

I have been super happy with my Duratrac RT's in XL (only 2lb heavier), fantastic all around, snow, rain, dirt, mud. But if you want to keep weight down and have a good aggressive tire the BaJa Boss would be good, but i still prefer the RT's in XL for only 2 lbs more.

    Tire that offers softest ride?

Michelin will be a good alternative and probably much better than the terrible Duelers. Michelin is known to have thin side walls so it should definitely give you a softer ride.

    4WD differences?

Why is it a bummer? You can do the same thing? I use 4H whenever i think its needed. No AWD, but its really unnecessary if you are proactive.

Is the forum ever going to allow Tapatalk access to this Forum again?

Tapatalk turned to garbage a while back and i believe they started charging too. No need with phone browsers working so well.

    GMRS Radio Antenna

Just added a 2M 70CM antenna, also good for GMRS. Mainly mounted this way for clearance into my garage.

    GMRS Radio Antenna

I did it under the weather stripping and filed down some of the metal so it wouldn't bulge, but its so thin i should have just done it over the weatherstripping since it can leak under the weatherstripping. Then i ran it under the panels to the front.

    Break-in Gas Mileage

I have always experience my vehicles running better after a long trip, even better MPG in some cases. Everything is well lubed and worked out. Especially on a new vehicle. The other factor is your miles back were likely all better MPG miles vs whatever driving you did leading up to the trip.
