i think the OP needs to address the long term plans of the vehicle. If you're planning on staying stock, then replace the head only. If you're eventually wanting more power, then do a swap like a 1UZ. Plans for my 00' LTD are a 1UZ swap w/ SC or rebuild the engine and forge the internals & go...

i'd be so down for this ride. let me know when the next one is going down. be a good way to meet some of the ppl on this forum.

i'd throw one on & yes there are a lot of us 3rd gens running around OC area. See them modded in all areas from SGV to San Diego (a whale's vagina) for those who lack an SAP button. :jk:

personally, just get some replacements. Local junkyards in SoCal have them all the time for like ~$200/front set.

at which one???... my ex is the Sales Mngr @ LV in Costa Mesa, CA, i have 3 ppl that still work there, still have at least 1 @ Gucci as well
