5vzfe from tundra in to t4r

Awesome...that is what I was hoping. We have the old motor - still running in the truck but it burns 5 quarts in between changes and doesn't leak a drop. Rebuild seems like a costly endeavor especially when this tundra motor has 118kmi on it for 700 bucks. Weekend job to pull and replace. I...

5vzfe from tundra in to t4r

I searched...couldn't find (please direct me if I am just an idiot and missed it...) Time to replace the motor in the t4r. Have a line on a 5vzfe out of a 2004 tundra...any reason it wouldn't work in my '98 t4r?

Where to buy a lift these days?

we found this out the hard way. Put a Toytec kit on and the 18+ year old boots lasted about 6 miles...lol. We did expect it so it wasn't a big deal.

3rd Gen: COMPLETE 5-speed manual trans and swap parts - DENVER

yea....I'd bet shipping would be prohibitive. I could get it as far west as Moab at some point in the next few months.

Part numbers for front diff mount fasteners?

Pretty sure I have a set if you can't find yours. Might take a bit to locate them in the pile of marked ziplocks I have in the shop...lol

3rd Gen Gas Tank, fuel pump and skid plate - DENVER

Pulled the stock gas tank out or a '99 t4r. It is 100% free of dents or other blemishes. Came out of a pavement queen that lived in Denver all its life. Was in a '99 t4r V6 4x4 with 180kmi on it. $150 w/o OEM fuel pump, $200 with Original/OEM fuel pump. Also have a stock fuel tank skid...

Looking for best way to install new outer tie rods

I did the same as the OP...no marks but I was swapping the complete rack and ended up needing both inner and outers. I took (2) 4' levels and used some big sliding wood clamps and clamped them to the outside of each front tire - roughly horizontal with the ground. then measured the distance...

3rd Gen: COMPLETE 5-speed manual trans and swap parts - DENVER

After my build, I have all parts needed to swap a 5 speed manual trans in to your 3rd gen 4runner. I had 2 cars - both 5 speed manuals and obviously I only needed one. All parts are from a 1998 6cyl 4x4 t4r with just over 200kmi on it. Included: transmission complete brake and clutch pedal...

Burned by the Doorman Lower Control Arms

We were in a pinch and needed a new LCA "right now". Went to NAPA and bought a replacement, installed it and have had zero issues thus far. However, we are definitely anticipating issues and took the extra set of OEM LCAs we have and are having them rebushed for when this part jumps up to bite...

Let's play a rousing game of... "What's that connector?"!

That is the truth! Took me forever to figure out where that connector went when swapping the wiring harness on my motor.

    Valve Cover Gasket job

I have to admit...this job was far more fun with the motor out of the truck :):)

    Firestone Lifetime alignment

I use the Firestone on Huron up north....think it is actually Westminster over there....roughly I-25 and 136th. I have the lifetime alignment on my 2000 Saab and they have always done well with it. Been there 4 times now since you can't do anything on a damn Saab without dropping the subframe...
