Observations after removing the hydrocarbon filter

Often times, K&N filters are way over-oiled. This can cause an oily film to build up on the MAF sensor which can affect its readings, causing it to miscalculate AF ratio. In some cases, the damage to the MAF is permanent (or the damage caused by careless cleaning). Now, this may not be your...

    4th Gen TSB's (Attachments)

There is a TSB for this. I can't find it at the moment, but it involves installing a modified harness for the Aux jack that has an inline ground loop filter. I had it done on my 08 and it works like a charm! If I find it, I'll post up a link.

    Rattling noise on ceiling

FYI - The pictures are still there. For some reason, IE is problematic when trying to view them, but Firefox shows them just fine.

    roof rattle/sunroof fix

Again, what doesn't makes sense is that I can view the images above, on the same forum, from the same source, using IE8. I haven't tried using compatibility view here yet, but I can't imagine why the results would be different from one thread to another.

    roof rattle/sunroof fix

OK. This makes no sense now. I can also see the pics in the original thread using Firefox 3.5.3, but not in IE8. However, I CAN see the pics above in this thread using IE8. Given that the pics in both threads have the same source (attached directly to this forum) that doesn't sound like a...

    roof rattle/sunroof fix

I have the same issue with the original thread as Mtn. Rush, but I can see the pics above just fine. I've noticed that there are many older threads where the pics are no longer visible, though I suspect the original poster can still see them, when the still exist.

    Rattling noise on ceiling

That's exactly what I get. I can see pics in other threads just fine, but not this one. Can anyone actually still see them?

Steering Wheel Vibration at Highway Speed...revisited

BTW - They FINALLY fixed the alignment issues. Apparently, Toyota's alignment specs are WAY too consevative in their caster settings. Our dealership moved to a brand new building with brand new alignment equipment. When my wife brought it in again, she happened to strike up a discussion with...

    Key Fob Tapping - Thoughts?

Now that might work. I just need to find one that actually sticks on (most rely strictly on friction to stay on top of the dash). Great ideas. Thanks!

    Key Fob Tapping - Thoughts?

Hmmm...that's a thought. I think I'd still rather have the cushion on the dash so that it doesn't matter which set of keys you use or if you have other keys, etc. hanging there, too. I don't hang much on my sets of car keys, but still....

Annoying buzz sound from cig lighter w/ipod??

My dealer's been trying to order the TSB parts for my 08 for the last 3 months. They said they can't find them anywhere in the country. Keep getting put on backorder or automatically cancelling. Getting a little annoyed with Toyota about this.

    really annoying rattle

I sometimes hear very quiet rattles in my 08 that sound like they're coming from the upper attachment points of the front seat belts. It's nearly imperceptible, but I hear everything and it bugs me.

    Key Fob Tapping - Thoughts?

Anyone else get tired of the key fob smacking the dash with every little bump or turn? It's really annoying to my. My HEMI has a built-in foam pad below the ignition switch just for this purpose. Any suggestions on addressing this? I've thought about felt or moleskin, but can't find any that...

Real life gas mileage 08 V6 or V8

I should count myself lucky. My computer only shows about 4% high. So far, after only 800 miles on my wife's V6, we're getting about 18 mpg with ALL short, in-town trips. Our only highway trip was over a LOT of mountain passes and included a little offroading, and averaged 23 mpg, with lots...
