I don't understand how it's pure coincidence? The black/white wire on the open circuit relay gets power but not enough and when I apply battery power it starts up every time. If the starter relay is in the engine compartment, where? I can't find it...

WOW...the nonsense in this thread. Just to clarify. 6 to 9 hours for an auto transmission removal, depending on the 4 banger or v6. Yes, it can be done quicker, IF you know what you're doing and have done it before. Lets remember, it takes 30 minutes just to get the truck in the air...

try jacking up the front end on jackstands to help push the pocket of air thru the system. I know this may sound a little unconventional but you can take a coolant pressure tester and pressurize the system a little to push the air thru. keep in mind when you do this (BE CAREFUL) hot coolant is...

i would suspect a big pocket of air in the system. If not that than perhaps a failed WP.
