    3rd Gen Bolt in Cage

Interested. I've been able to find only a single bar for the cargo bay for the 3rd Gens. Save our heads first. Let the cargo bay fend for itself!

    IFS + Front Locker Article...informative!

To Flexus I have found this statement to be true in my limited experience (1 year) with an ARB front locker complementing the factory rear e-locker on my IFS 2000 4Runner with 32's. One of my best wheeling buddies doesn't believe it. Many posters on the IFS forums don't believe it. (See...

    Has anyone re-geared 4th Gen V8 to 4.88 or 3.56?

Help. Search yielded nothing. If anyone in this forum has re-geared his/her 4th Gen V8 to either 4.88 or 4.56 diffs in order to run 33" tires, please post up and tell me how you like the performance and mileage. Thanks.

Where does Toyota measure ground clearance?

Who can help? I don't think Toyota is trying to mislead anyone. I am an off-roading newbie who simply doesn't know the standard way one should measure ground clearance, whether a Jeep, 4Runner or whatever. I just don't see how the measurement could be the rear differential (always much...

Where does Toyota measure ground clearance?

How/where does one measure ground clearance? I downloaded a pdf off of the Toyota website with the specs for my 2000 4Runner. Toyota states my rig's ground clearance should be 11" with the optional 265/70/16 tires. Well, my rear differential is not nearly that high off the ground, so I would...

    1999 LTD wheels

They appear to have had off-roading use from the nicks and scrapes. That's okay if they still balance well. I would use them as a second set of wheels with 265/75/16's for off-roading, not for looks. Why are you selling them? Are they still in very usable condition and easy to balance?

    2001 wheels, 15" or 16"???

Check Discount Tire again To the original poster of this thread, go to discounttire.com again, and after you jump through all the hoops and finally get to your 2001 4Runner's tire size, look for the hot link "View Optional/Plus Sizes." This link will take you to several tire/wheel combinations...

Bad vibration at 1500 rpm in high gear

Proper driveshaft lubrication or balancing? Please note that I do not have the mechanical expertise of many of the contributors to this board, so take my comments accordingly. Furthermore, I drive a 2000 SR5 V6 with a 5 spd manual, so my experience might not even apply to your 4th gen rig, but...

    spare key

VIN Number Assuming you have a service writer who is willing to give you a few seconds (don't call early morning), all you need to do is give him/her the VIN, and when they enter it into their computer, they will know in a few seconds exactly what kind of key you have, including its copy code...

    spare key

No chip in my 2000 key Well, I wonder what year and model Runner Jay has. Might be newer than 2000. I have a 2000 SR5 V6 4X4, and my key is solid metal, so I presume there could be no chip inside it. It's original too because it has the Toyota emblem on it. I do have a remote module which I...
