    CV axle going bad?

If its a humming noise that resembles the noise that an aggressive mud terrain tire would make, and it goes away in 4wd, it's probably the front diff. The original TSB: T-SB-0175-10 REV1 Calls for replacement of the entire front carrier assembly on 2010 - 2011 4Runners. There's a new TSB...

    Rodneyk's 5th Gen build /Trail photos thread

I picked up a 2010 Trail Edition a month ago after the untimely demise of my 4th Gen Limited V8. The old truck was quite a workhorse, it did 300,000 kms of mostly city or trail driving yet still ran as smooth and quiet as day 1. I'm still getting used to the lack of turning radius of this...

    any 4runner around british columbia?

:withstupid: Wouldn't bother looking looking for trails around the lower mainland. Like jca21 said, grab a backroads mapbook and head east, or up to Squamish.

    installation of leveling kit?

I found the biggest PITA of the job was the 3 nuts at the top of the shock tower that holds the shock/spring assembly in. There isn't enough clearance to get a rachet and socket in there. Do yourself a favor and get a set of racheting wrenches and save the trouble of turning them 1/8 of a turn...

    Actual Reliability Data

04 Limited V8, 213,000 kms mostly city driving and visiting job sites. This is my work vehicle, owned since new and has been amazingly reliable. Only issue has been driveshaft thump which has been addressed. My mechanic pulled the driveshaft and lubed the splines and put it back in.

    BFG all terrains question

I ran 265/70/17 stock without any major issues. Slight rub on the UCA at full lock when going over bumps, but it rarely happened.
