2016 TE 41k miles. All good here. One dealership visit for the airbag recall. No squeaks, no door lock actuators broken (yet), no front diff noise (yet).

To keep the kiddos warm I'll set the vents to "face" and close off all the front vents. That forces a good amount of air through the rear console vents.

Take a hammer to the frame and make sure there are no soft spots. Check near the rear passenger wheel carefully. This level of rust is certainly treatable, and so long as there are no holes anywhere, you're fine. I rescued my 99 with POR and annual Fluid Film treatments.

That's not bad at all. Hit all the metal underneath with a rust preventer of your choice (mine is Fluid Film) each fall and you should have a lot of life left.

I'm with you. I'm coming from a BRZ and a GTI, and I don't find the 4R brakes objectionable. In fact, they're quite adequate. When the stockers wear down I'll go OEM again.
