Help with Dual Battery setup Redarc1225D

It mounts in front of the radiator on the left side right where the horns are, so you have to move the horns. The mount fits just as it does in the Prado 150. I cut out a hole in the radiator cover so I could see the LED readout.

What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Took my 4runner to the CAT scale to see where I was at after I finished installing my C4 Fab rear bumper. Both tanks full, so 47 gallons of fuel, No fridge, no me, 6080 lb. So I'm right up against the GVWR with me in it, Ok, to be honest, I'm over it with me in it. I'm golden after I use my Aux...

Best Snorkel for 5th Gen 4Runner - Safari vs Dobinson vs FTS

So Safari and Dobinson is a look, I get it, it's very traditional. The TJM airtec snorkel is very polarizing. The TJM has one thing going for it, it's low profile. I know thats not what your going for, but when you hit that monster flexing bicep on something your quarter panel and door may do...

Rust protection advice needed - CRC over fluid film ?

Have you looked at 3m cavity wax plus? It's used at a lot of bodyshops when they do repairs and replace panels. They also sell a wand to get inside frames as well.

Engine Bay Power Plant U.S. Pat. Pen. No. 63.167.432

Almost all of my trips are in the Mojave, so if your worried about the BCDC sitting in the heat of the engine bay like I was, you may want to consider using the Long Ranger Prado 150 Redarc mount available from Out of Town 4wd in Australia that mounts the Redarc in front of the radiator in the...

    Re-gearing with nitro-gears

I drove to Cashmere from California to have my rig re-geared to 4.88's at Nitro/Just differentials. I would not worry about them taking apart your drive train. Thats all they do all day, everyday. They train all the shops in the U.S. that install Nitro Gears. I was on 295/70/17's when I...

    RTT with Sunroof Pass-thru

Redtail Overland went off the path in a big way. Great ideas, but 25k for a carbon fiber tent and how much does it weigh? 125, 150? No, 310 pounds, 140 kg! What vehicle has a dynamic roof load rating to accommodate 310 pounds? can anyone name one manufacturer?? You could buy 6, yes six Alu-Cab...

    CBI Aluminium Bumper Lead Times

Can I ask why you went through a "supplier" instead of dealing directly with CBI?

Looking for Opinion on some body armor

I considered aluminum bumpers, because they are half the weight of steel, but after a lot of looking, I saw people with aluminum having welds crack at stress points, re-welding only to have the crack reappear. I also just felt uneasy about my recovery points being aluminum. Aluminum recovery...

Lets address the "elephant"/ weight in the room!

Think about this subject a lot. I've added about 700 pounds so far. The last and by far heaviest mod was my auxiliary fuel tank, which took the spot my spare tire occupied which lead to something even heavier, a C4 rear bumper, 230 pounds. That will put me at 930 pounds. 5600 pounds when loaded...

    Eaton E-Locker in 5th Gen

I had the wiring all done when I went to Nitro for the re-gear. I had a Bussmann RTMR that had unused relays and installed a AOB Toyota style front locker switch. Two wires connected to the Bussmann via weather pack connectors to the locker. The locker came with a wire harness that included a...

    Eaton E-Locker in 5th Gen

Yes, now with the 4 pinion set up with the new locking plate, most of the time the Harrop Eaton will not disengage going from forward to reverse due to the driveline being bound-up a bit from the differential being locked. If it does disengage it's just a few inches of wheel travel before it...

    Eaton E-Locker in 5th Gen

I don't have it in the rear, but I put the Harrop Eaton E-locker in my front differential when I re-geared. I did it for all of the reasons you state, no compressor, solenoids or airlines to fail. About 3 years ago they redesigned the lockers from 2 to 4 pinion gears which fixed the issues a lot...
