2014 Engine Toast - Rebuild vs Replace

Seems like pretty low mileage for engine failure. I wonder what caused it. If it is toast, personally i would get a new long block, but thats just me. Keep us updated on the diagnosis.

P0441 code, and can’t pump fuel into tank

Yes, where the rubber hose connects. No need to drop the tank but you will have to crawl up in there to look.

P0441 code, and can’t pump fuel into tank

This happened to me. It ended up being the anti siphon ball located on the tank itself. Take the base of the filler off, look inside the tank from there and make sure the ball moves freely. I was able to fix it by sticking a screw driver down the hole and dislodged it because it had gotten stuck...

    Replacing Engine

I did the rear main seal and the front seal. It was well worth it and now i dont have to worry about pulling the tranny later on. I also did the engine mounts, oil cooler seal and hoses, and TB, because its way easier when the engine is pulled. It was easier than i thought and look me about a...

Ahh, much better. I'm wondering why I didn't replace these before. 20 year old vacuum hose is fragile.

Did my engine just blow up? help.

Update: After pulling the timing belt cover I realized that the timing belt had probably never been changed...looked pretty bad so I changed it yesterday along with the WP, pulleys and tensioner. Now if i could just mate the engine to the dang tranny...I was wrestling it for a few hours last...

Did my engine just blow up? help.

Thanks guys, I got the manual wiring harness on the new engine. It wasn't bad at all, I just took my time and made sure I didn't miss any plugs. I also got the spark plugs on too. I actually got the engine out yesterday without breaking anything or hurting myself, and put the flywheel/pilot...

Ok thanks, I think I get it now. I've never taken the manifold off so I guess it looks more intimidating than it is.

Did my engine just blow up? help.

Update Yo fellas sorry to leave you hanging. I decided to attempt an engine replacement since the old engine is most likely hydrolocked. I had to work for a while to save up enough money and time and now i'm taking a week off work to complete it. I got an engine from a wrecked auto '00 4runner...
