Just be happy that it ran for a couple days....thats better then most used gen 2 - 4runners... LOL.... make sure your battery is fully charged also.

I have a 1995 tr4...I called toyota and they told me when the fuel light comes on { flat ground } you have about 15 miles of drive time left...this seems right , because the other day, my light came on...and I watched the trip odometer...I got about 14 miles and my engine stopped...

Sounds like a great deal to me..and below Kelly B.B. value.. check the oil..see if there is any anti-freeze in it..or any yellowish residue on the oil dipstick start the vehicle several times to see if the starter/starter relay is working properly. make sure the engine is cold when you look...

can you post some more pictures ? specifically I would like to see a photo of the light bulb inside of the glovebox and also a detailed photo of the cigarrette lighter..Thanks :infidel:

Now that it may only be running on 4 or 5 cylinders, I wouldnt doubt that the MPG improved and it has more power... thats how well designed these 4runners really are !

Oh...if you need a new starter relay...listen up.. I called 4 places...Napa ..autozone, oreilly and advance auto.. the only one that had it was advance auto parts...the other 3 stores told me it was a dealer only part...if you have tio buy it from toyota dealer or ebay...it was over...

I just went thru this problem... the toyota tech told me it was my starter..so i replaced that...well..that didnt solve the problem./.. it was the starter relay...which is cheaper and easier to replace then the starter... go to your fusebox under the hood, pull off the black fusebox...

seriously though...how mechanical are you ? Do you have a large tool kit ? Do you have 4 feet of socket extensions with swivels ? You will need it to change the starter. Can you change rear springs ? These 4runners are known for having saggy rears that look terrible Are you prepared to deal...
