was out hunting in my 93 4runner and it just died i waited 4 minutes and it started back up and i took it to a mechanic the next day and all he said was a switch got hot would the ignition switch cause it to do- runnerthis

i need help on a 93 4runner
i was driving it one day and it just died i had a mechanic look at it and all he said was a switch but after it died i waited 4 minutes and it fired back up what could cause that i was told ignition swith or somthing in that line- runnerthis
