what would it take to upgrade an 03-04 V8 to VVT-i ?

If you want to go faster, look into some forged wheels to save some weight or add a full exhaust with some longtubes, if anyone makes them. Odds are that either of these options will be cheaper than what you want to do.

Runner getting NEW Nittos as we speak

If you can afford a V8 4X4 on a poor college students income, then you can prob. spend a good chunk on tires, ;):

QUESTIONAIRE: Problems you've had with 4th gens?

Re: Re: Re: QUESTIONAIRE: Problems you've had with 4th gens? I think you should write a check for $825 before the deal is gone. I paid $1,100 a couple of days before my 4Runner hit 36k. If my '03 turns out as reliable as my '99, then I've just wasted $1,100 but I prefer to be covered...

QUESTIONAIRE: Problems you've had with 4th gens?

I have 39k on mine and the only problem was for a broken button on the driver side. For only $825, I wouldn't give it a second thought.

What oil to use on my 100k+ Limited?

With 113k on the clock, if it were mine I'd prob. use 10W-40 or just continue to use 10W-30 for a bit longer as that is what I've used since new. I've read the same thing on other boards with regard to high mileage cars but who knows if it's oil related or simple neglect. A quote from the...
