    Help with aftermarket wheels

I looked online for used wheels on Kijiji, marketplace, etc.. I'm running 4th gen 4runner/Tacoma wheels for the summer tires. I got 2 sets for around $200. The finish was bad but I repainted them black. Works well for me, you should be able to find something used in a 16 inch pretty easily

    Hilux SSR-G for sale CAD.

Looks good but needs proper coil springs to get it back to a ride height befitting a 4runner and not a stanced out ricer. And lose that body kit bumper while you're at it.. Keep in mind that this price is not including taxes (which here in BC are high) and the dealer fee that's about $400. So...

How are used prices in your area?

Yeah I hear ya on that. Here in the BC interior I have seen some crazy prices for rusted out junk. But once in a while you could get a steal of a deal, you just have to check online daily.

    Have you named your T4R?

Ours has a few names, though not very creative. "The 'Lux" "The Runner" "The Surf" "The 4Banger" "The Truck"

    97 Anyone know this one

Yeah the steel wheels do look a lot like 80's GM rally rims. Why have beauty rings on a 4runner? Doesn't seem right. I wouldn't mind the paint had they omitted the gold. I think it makes it look "weird". But to each his own.

    Wheel upgrade

If its your daily driver just go on Craigslist, etc for a set of rims and tires from a 4runner or tacoma. There are many people who buy one and take off the factory wheels and tires to upgrade to something more aggressive. You can get these cheap. Bolt them on and don't worry so much about the...

    Junker Runner - worth it?

Snap it up cheap as you can and get it in your own driveway and go from there.

Best driving practice for driving up hill

Does this go through the OBD2 port? I wonder if it's work with the JDM version. I suppose I would have to get one first and cross my fingers.

Best driving practice for driving up hill

Yeah I live in a mountainous area so I usually hit the O/D off before the climb, depending on grade, at 100 km/h or under. Usually coming down the hill/mountain I'll kick the O/D off when I slow down to around 80 km/h to save the brake rotors/pads. But brakes are cheaper than trannys are so...

    Hilux Surf Import - Thoughts?

This is true. I still wipe when I turn sometimes.

Best driving practice for driving up hill

Ok, so how about hitting the O/D off while descending hills to keep a more constant speed without using the brakes as much? How much excessive wear is this causing? I may need to stop doing this.

    Rpm fluctuates in park

High fluctuations for voltage drops but ya maybe start there. Test your alternator and battery. And clean your battery terminals while you're at it. Couldn't hurt.
