Thank you so so much for this info. My mechanic was telling me I needed to buy a $700 sensor. I did some googling, found your post, read the proper TSB (TSB BR005-03) for my '03 4 Runner and I fixed with WITH A PAPERCLIP!
Then I took the TSB up to my mechanic and gave it to him...
