Ryguytheman's SR5 Premium - Build and Adventure Log

Crazy Hailstorm passed through on Wednesday. Damage on every body panel, the roof, the hood. Sunroof smashed, water everywhere. Broken mirror. Waiting on insurance, curious to see if they'll total it or not.

    Something melted my mirror

I learned this lesson when I had turf installed in my back yard last summer. The windows on my house laser beamed across the turf throughout the day, melting lines across my yard. Tint the window, problem solved. Turf Shield Window Film is a good DIY option.

After almost 3 years, my Toytec coilovers were leaky, and the rubber bushings on the lower shock mount were toast. Toytec came through with a free upgrade under warranty. New version has heim bushings.

The last photos I posted are of Yankee Hill, just behind Central City. There's actually a pretty big network of trails right there. It's one of my go-to trails since it's only about an hour away. We met up around 8:00 AM and were aired down and on the trail by 9:30. Plenty to do for a wide...

Ryguytheman's SR5 Premium - Build and Adventure Log

Went out for a little fun and got stuck up to the frame in mud. The wife was able to come to the rescue thankfully, and getting unstuck is part of the fun. But the squeaking is ungodly, even after 90 minutes and way too much money spent spraying all the mud out at the car wash. Gonna have to...

Beware of Scam: YOHO 4Runner Bed Platform For 5th Gen Trucks

There's a big thread on here that details his issues. Basically the same story as OP from this thread, with the bezel lights in particular. And here's my experience. Even after all that, the lights stopped working after about a year, maybe a little longer.

    SR5 vs TRD OR

I wheel a decent amount, and my SR5 has been plenty capable. I don't think I've ever gotten stuck in a situation that a locker would have gotten me out of. That said, I would get the OR if I was doing it over. I grew to love wheeling because of this car. I didn't need a locker when I bought...

    fender splash shields

Just got my set from Rad Rubber. Much thicker than the OEM set that failed, solid purchase. Not the kind of thing I'd pay double for for the other brand mentioned, but I also don't take pictures of my wheel well to put on Instagram.

so I installed the CBI Covert Front Bumper and WTF?

The skid plate should go back on without issue. Your bumper is not covering the area that your skid did. Have you tried to put it back on? As someone else mentioned, the mounting holes are clearly visible in your photos.

Recent trip to Telluride. Couldn't have asked for better weather on Black Bear Pass. Imogene's summit was right in the middle of a thunderstorm the next day. First time doing both, incredible experience.

    Southern Style Offroad Bumper Experience

There are plenty of vendor horror stories out there, but this isn't one of them. Given the pictures of the damage, I personally would have no problem touching up that tiny corner myself. It's trail armor, you're supposed to beat it up. To each their own, but it seems silly to me to whine...
