What did you do with your 4runner today?

TSS is really just an appearance package. It's the wheels, tires, black badges, etc...oh, and don't forget the sticker. I think it may be a regional thing. Other than that: 2016 SR5 CrewMax 5.7 4x4 SR5 Upgrade Package (towing pkg, 38 gal fuel tank, EnTune with nav) Spray bed liner TSS...

What did you do with your 4runner today?

Said good bye to the pretty ol girl. Exchanged for a pretty new girl. If anyone is looking in the DFW area there will be a clean 2006 V8 SR5 (one 3rd row jump seat) with 170k miles on the lot at Pat Lobb. Do me a favor...ask for Bill Jenkins (pm me for his mobile). I don't get anything out...

price for new brake pads/rotors on 2004 SE?

Just replaced pads and rotors at 166k over the weekend. Flushed fluid as well. It's amazing what new stuff does to an old 4Runner. https://www.amazon.com/Autospecialty-KOE138-1-Click-Replacement-Brake/dp/B00AN5RNUM/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1466448975&sr=1-1&keywords=KOE138

Buying a high mileage V8 - What should I look out for?

It would be nice to know the timing belt was changed. If a dealer performed the service then there is a sticker on the engine itself that shows mileage and date of service. I think you can expect about $1k to get it done. There are probably more...but probably similar to any car at 150k...

My head is spinning...What to do about exhaust manifold leak?

Not sure if this helps for the area concerned...but pretty cool and the guy is pretty entertaining. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqZYgReuywM BTW...NSFW (language)

Any Decent CV Axle outside of CVJ

Dealing with CVJ or cores isn't really a big deal. Very friendly folks and when the they get the core it is processed quickly. I just reused their boxes...not much to it at all. The work of swapping them out is the PITA...and it isn't that bad. Call them up :phone:

What did you do with your 4runner today?

The Moogs were on back order so I cheap'ed out and bought the beck/arnley. I called rock auto and asked if they had data on warranty returns and they said the becks have a very low return rate...about the same as the Moog arms. I think pressing ball joints in wouldn't be too bad but, for me...

What did you do with your 4runner today?

Replaced complete upper and lower control arms and outer tie rods on Sunday and got her aligned on Monday. Very nice :lookout: At 150k there seemed like a number of ball joints were bad and I know the bushings had seen better days. I ended up not replacing the inner tie rods since they felt...

Any reviews of the new Bilstein 6112's?

Wasn't trying to use the 6112 in the rear. I'm wondering if these could be used in conjunction with stock rear springs to give an almost level look. 6112 in front and 5100 in rear with stock springs.

Any reviews of the new Bilstein 6112's?

Could the 6112 be used at all with stock rear springs? It almost sounds like the first clip may provide a lift... I'm thinking 6112 and 5100 rears for a nice almost level setup but not a crazy lift if the 6112's could be used to almost level the front. At the moment I have Tacoma TRD OR front...

Thought it was a wheel bearing...

    That's the smart move.

Thought it was a wheel bearing...

I put the old bearing assy from the right on the left and noise gone. Why is the 4Runner oppo from ever other car I've seen?

Thought it was a wheel bearing...

Sounds like this is me... http://www.toyota-4runner.org/4th-gen-t4rs/101137-help-humming-noise-coming-front-end-while-driving-2.html#post902488 Don't understand though. I might try my passenger side bearing on the left in the morning just to check. :redbrick:

Thought it was a wheel bearing...

...but now that I've replaced the wheel bearing the growl is still there. I was sure it was the passenger side since when you turn to the right the growl goes away. Everything went back together fine...I'm stumped. Same symptom now and the growl goes away when turning right still. :yield:
