Have a white coloured 2001 T4R. The paint isn't peeling or anything but it is oxidized. A good detailing shop wants $350 to polish and restore the finish. A discounted paint job, I hear, costs $200. If I go with the same colour again, isn't painting a better option (and cheaper too)? Sorry...

Thanks for saving me time and anxiety :) Just bought a 01' 2WD T4R and was concerned about the play with bumps and road unevenness. Since my 4WD Montero does not have any such play, I was getting worried about the transmission. :nicethread:

Did not get to drive it home since I could not pay cash today with banks being closed. So left a $1k cheque. Will drive up tomorrow with the cash and get it.

Bought the 2001 4Runner 2WD SR5 with 83k miles on it. Paid 7700. To be honest, my 99 Montero is much more refined and sedan like. Too bad the spares are really expensive and my Montero is from the east coast so it is all rust and very little body left. Hope the T4R lasts me a decade :zoom:
