Stutter under heavy acceleration no codes, no CEL

Ok, so I ordered a coil so I would have a known good test coil. It tested 1 Ohm of resistance, checked all of the other coils which had the exact readings and found one with .7 Ohms resistance and replaced that coil. Engine starts immediately now but the sputter at 3500+/- RPM still exists. I...

Stutter under heavy acceleration no codes, no CEL

All great suggestions, thank you... going to google how to test the coils now. Will report back my findings in a day or two.

Stutter under heavy acceleration no codes, no CEL

1999 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4x4, 160,000 miles. This issue became apparent when I encountered a vehicle doing 45mph in a 70 mph zone. I pretty much floored it to get around them and the engine "choked, stuttered, stumbled" until I backed off the gas. Meanwhile I have performed some long overdue...

    Timing belt HELPP!!!!!

Make sure you move the camshaft sensor and wires or at least be aware of them when you are heating.... would really suck to melt them. Also, when you replace the AC compressor bracket make sure you get the wire harness clip in the right place, from memory it is the bolt closest to the rear of...

    Timing belt HELPP!!!!!

Did that myself a few weeks ago... stripped the head on the rear hyd tensioner bolt. You are going to have to remove the ac compressor and bracket to get to the rear bolt. It's a pain the the arse but can be done. Autozone sells a replacement metric bolt but the head is 13mm instead of a 12...

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Did that a few weeks ago, rounded the head on the rear hydraulic tensioner bolt... ended up having to remove the AC compressor and bracket to get it out. Not fun.

    15 posts rule 2 cents

I understand the rules, just hate to "spam" up a thread so I can participate in the forum. :) That being said, please disregard the next several posts.

What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

The past 4 weeks I have gotten around to some overdue maintenance... Changed the timing belt, water pump, hyd tensioner and related bearings/idlers, flushed PS system, plugs and wires, cleaned throttle body, oil change.... I'm chasing down a mystery condition present before any of the...

    Power steering fluid??? 2004 V6

Just flushed mine last week, make sure you remove the reservoir and clean the mesh screen.... mine was full of crud and you couldn't see light through it.

Severe transmission lag when slowing down then attempting to accelerate

Did you change the transmission filter or just the fluid? Other than that suggestion I'm not going to be much help, sorry.
