I was lucky and found a nice clean rust free original one on eBay shipped to me for just under $25 but that was 3 years ago. I prefer used OEM over aftermarket but the good news is they’re readily available, maybe even still new OEM but didn’t check.

Another vote for replacing the top hats. Easy to replace and fairly low cost to buy

Actually my first choice would be going with an OEM muffler/tailpipe if I could find a new one for reasonable price or even nice used one in good condition.

I’ve been pretty fortunate regarding mileage as well, typically between 19-21 mpg though most of my driving is highway and country 2 lane roadways with few traffic lights or congestion.
