Was in the same boat last November. Wanted the 3rd Gen for $$ reasons, but the only clean one I found was an 03 Sport Edition V8. So far, so good. There are some here with nearly 200K miles (though you'd have to check with them to see if there are major problems). With mine, none so far, though...
